Application of coil springs

Most coil springs can be used to achieve automatic reset within a certain range. For example, when drilling with a desktop drilling machine, press the feed handle to move the drill bit downwards. After drilling, once the hand is released, the drill bit will automatically rise back to its original position, which means a coil spring is installed in the shaft of the handle. There are many examples of using coil springs for resetting in mechanical equipment, and they are widely used in various automatic machines, printing machines, and packaging machines. Also, coil springs are commonly used for balancing purposes. For example, when installing a component on a vertical guide rail, it needs to move up and down along the guide rail and can be stably stopped at any position. The up and down movement of the component is pulled by a chain, and the lower the component is, the longer the chain becomes. Due to the weight of the chain, it is heavier than when the component is at the upper end of the guide rail, resulting in different positions of the component and the total weight of the component plus the chain. For this type of imbalance in different positions, a coil spring can also be used to add balance force. The common box ruler is also an application example of a coil spring, which can reduce volume. The use of coil springs is not as extensive as that of torsion springs, mainly due to the complexity of production. Usually, professional manufacturers are hired to make them, but if they make too little, the price is high, and the manufacturers cannot make money, they are unwilling to do it. If they do too much at once, it will cause great waste if it does not meet the requirements. The face of technical personnel is also not good, and the production cycle is relatively long.
